RFID Pills

Category: Medical

Author: James Richardson

Idea: Somehow create RFID tags that are small enough, and not harmful to the human body.  To often when medicine is taken you forget the last time you took it, or did I take may last dose?  This way if a pill is removed from the container, the cap could have counter that registers the last change in the count within the bottle.

A Growing World

Category: Video Games

Author: solarentric

Idea: I've used program like there and second life on the web.
But now I'm interested on giving an idea that will beat all the online worlds.
The two programs are based in a 3d online and chat virtual world.
They are both built for PCs but I was thinking of a virtual world built into a modem that uses a wireless internet card or internet plug to connect to a vast 3d internet server and into a TV, that way all the virtual information uses the modem of 400 giga bits to translate the virtual information from the server. If there was a 3d server that has a completely 3d solar system from the largest planet to smallest flower it would be a project of realism of a 3d virtual world. With a name like Earth 2. The 3d virtual world could have hills and mountains of terrain for each and every planet and asteroid and comet.
The 3d world could start off with a few cities and towns too. With highres or medres textures, with 3d bump maps and terrain with highres and medres textures with 3d hight maps and texture bump maps. Such as sharp points as grass of green polygons.
The creation process could be real 3d growing trees seed to full grown trees and plants. Like 3d tree generators that generate trunks, branches, twigs and leaves. But the tree actually grows in real time 3d (or 4d)
as the terrain is a 3d surface with solid 3d particles to make up the objects instead of the terrain to be hollow, the terrain should be hollow in certain areas such as caves. Water is 3d liquid transparent solid particles with the particles all grouped to the 3d liquid water path gives the impression particles aren't there also giving a skin. Splashes make the particles flick into the air to give a splash effects along with waves. Waves are made when the particles as a skin wave and splash the skin effect stops the water looking bity as particles are. Lava, liquid mud & sand and other or customized liquids have simular physics.

Lava produces fire and melts things by deleting the polygons on touch.
The system created allows actors and other things to drown in water and metal to rust.
Each object has a polygon texture options panel and properties such as durability to the polygon joints. If the modem has a microphone built-in or wireless fitted then people can talk into it, either by speech or the modem converts it to text.
When talking in text the actor animates and takes a 3d pocket pc/palm os out and uses a touch screen pen from out of the same pocket. This animation should only work when the person using the program slides out the chat panel and begins to type or chat by clicking on the microphone button. The chat panel could slide from the right side. With chat history to see would others say. With a microphone volume slider.

Calendar Referral Service

Category: Web/Tech

Author: Mike Adams

Idea: Create the concept of a master calendar that all other calendars can refer to.  Use the same concept as user@domain.com for referrals.  So if my calendar at work is user@work.com, I can point that calendar to a master at user@masterdomain.com, the master would be the place that I could establish allowances for the other calendars.  Such as user@work.com would be allowed to place appts for 9–5pm M-F, a group calendar for a club or sport would be able to add entries for say T, W 6–9pm.  etc. etc.

Hot Silicon

Category: Environmental

Author: Tim Pearce

Idea: Electric fan heaters draw a lot of power.

Computers draw much less power but generate a lot of heat

Idea: Use "hot" silicon to heat elements. A combination of chips that get hot won't use more than 200Watts, even when combined with a micro fan like those in a PC.

High heat, low power, low running cost.

It could also be installed in cars for the period before the water system heats up to give near instant heat

American Inventor

Here are my initial thoughts on American Inventor.  I don’t think it has enough focus on the invention, to much emphasis on the people.  I like a good person story as much as the next guy, but the endless of shots of people making it, and then people not making it, without actually showing the invention was annoying to say the least.

If you watched the show, what were your thoughts?

Pram Umbrella

Category: Household Helpers

Author: wowwhatanidea

Idea: It is impossible to push a pram or pushchair and hold an umbrella at the same time. I suggest a long handled umbrella which can be clipped onto a pram or pushchair handle. This way, mum or dad stay dry when taking the baby/toddler out on rainy days.

Mail Order Fraud?

Category: Law

Author: Joseph R. Vazzo

Idea: WANTED;
An attorney to bring suit against the catalog mail order industry. Is not the practice of demanding a "handling charge" a violation of
law?

Since when should a customer pay any company employee for work performed on the firm's work site?  Are those who "handle the product to be shipped not already paid?  Is not asking the buyer to pay these indivdiuals just another way of in-creasing the price of the product?
Is not the purchaser now a part time employer of these employees?
How are the proceeds labeled on the firm's financial statements?
Is there a separate account for this income?  Is it not likely that this income is masked as something other than receipts from sales.

There is absolutely no legal reason that the purchaser pay the
employee to do work somewhere other than at the purchasers location.

There is strong likelihood that these mail-order houses are guily of "hiding" income.

Thats it.

Grocery Bagger

Category: Retail

Author: wowwhatanidea

Idea: Supermarket checkouts which filter the shopping (once it has been paid for) into carrier bags or boxes.  The items could slide down gulleys straight into bags or cardboard boxes and a sensory mechanism would make sure items are packed correctly.  For example, chilled products into one box, heavy items such as tins into another box, fresh fruit and vegetables into another box and so on.  The sensor would make sure items are packed so that the heavier ones, like potatoes, go in first and the lighter ones (like grapes) go on top.
